Women Entrepreneurs in India represent a dynamic group of 15 million+ women who have dared to veer off the beaten path despite the obvious challenges they faced as women, and are exploring new vistas of economic freedom. They have chosen the entrepreneurial path to do something significant with their lives and also offer a source of livelihood incremental income to their families.
Entrepreneurial journey can be very exciting. But it also has a lot of uncertainties. Most entrepreneurs are fuelled by a passion to fulfil an aspiration or to realise a dream. BUT not every entrepreneur has all the right tools to succeed. We all need to network, collaborate, synergise, learn from each other.
Women Entrepreneurs continuously face a variety of challenges which include lack of family support, gender based barriers, limited access to social and business networks, less access to knowledgeable mentors, business initiatives not taken seriously, etc. It is apparent that there is a need to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit & professional development of women. To strengthening their vocational as well as management skills.
The Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) is a national level NGO formed in 1999 that offers these women entrepreneur a platform to come together and share their opinions, ideas and visions; in order to collectively evolve strategies for success in their respective field and also experience personal growth in the process.
Dr. Rajni Aggarwal, the President of FIWE, is a Post Graduate from BITS and Doctorate in Education. She is herself a first generation entrepreneur who received the National Award as a Small Scale Entrepreneur in 1987 from the President of India. She is the Managing Director of Sears International Pvt. Ltd., Founder-CEO of Shree Ganpati Exports, New Delhi. She is on the boards of leading Government and private corporations in India.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is unimaginable for Women Entrepreneurs. In a scenario where men dominate the labour force, where women earn only 80 percent of male wages for the same work, and where women spend 577 percent more time on unpaid domestic work than men, the few women who own or run enterprises are outliers and pathbreakers. Women own 20 percent of micro enterprises, 5 percent small enterprises, and less than 3 percent medium enterprises in India. Economic slowdowns and pandemic-induced shutdowns will hit them the hard.
With a view to supplement these efforts for their benefit we are starting a series of motivational workshops by eminent achievers in different fields, under the title Review-Reboot-ReBuild
The first session of the series will be one of positive energy infusion by Mr. Ashish Vidyarthi, a prolific speaker, motivational interventionist, life ignitor and a national award-winning actor, has worked across 11 languages in 200+ plus films. With his igniting talks and bespoke motivational workshops, he has impacted the lives of working professionals from over 200 organisations across the globe. He is also the Co-founder of Ashish Vidyarthi and Associates.
